2 month agoI deleted my last review because I thought it deserved an update ! I must say This amazing restaurant has tremendous food, Tremendous Service/Staff and very good ownership!! They definitely know how to Hire and Serve great food!!! It’s gonna be the only thing I miss about being in a local Hotel !! Respectfully Patrick

2 month agoOne rainy day we googled breakfast in Meriden and this was top of the list even though there was one closer. We got to this location and saw a beautiful diner with lots of parking spots. We entered and were immediately greeted and seated. It was large, spacious, clean with nicely coordinated furniture and wonderfully decorated for the holidays. We got our menus, drinks, food and check came out quickly. We arrived around 845 and left 930am. Server checked on us several times. It was wonderful! Loved the book theme. 3 month agoService with a smile (and on New Years Day). The food and atmosphere was great. Unfortunately, we did not get to hear anyone play the piano during our breakfast. But we will certainly be back again and hopefully can catch a performance. Our waitress was kind, considerate and had a wonderful smile. Would recommend this place for breakfast.

3 month agoGreat small town diner feel in a large city. The reviews were excellent, and for good reasons. I came in around lunchtime, so the place was packed, and I had to wait. They greet you as soon as you arrive. It took about 10 to 15 min to be seated. The place is clean and organized. The decor makes you feel at home and to top it off, they fire place and piano in the center of the main room brings it all together. The service was fast, and the food was excellent. Many items to choose from. I will definitely return maybe on a Saturday the waitress, mention that someone plays the piano on Saturday while you dine.

3 month agoWe’ve been to this cafe a number of times, and it’s become a go-to for breakfast on special occasions. BEST blueberry pancakes! Great atmosphere. Service is always FAST and friendly. Fruit is fresh and ripe. We’re late sleepers and usually arrive about an hour before closing, and we never feel rushed (granted, to some extent we do rush ourselves because we’ve worked in the service industry, and we don’t want to be *those* customers). With that said, I find it’s unusual to have attentive, quality service in the hour before closing, so the great service certainly doesn’t go unnoticed. Worth noting, the first time we went there was during their busiest time and were impressed enough to keep coming back! We’ve had the server with the gorgeous, icy-blue eyes a couple times. I regret that I forgot their name, but they’ve provided us with outstanding service more than once now! Oh, and the price is good and portions are huge! Love this place and look forward to our next visit! :)

4 month agoOne of the best home fries I’ve had in a long time. They are sliced, not chunky pieces so it was flavorful all around. The French fries needed a little more cooking time, weren’t as crispy as I would have liked. The ham, avocado, and egg burrito was delicious!
